Andong has been selected for the Korea Heritage Service's 2026 World Heritage Festival program, receiving a total of KRW 2.8 billion in funding. Nine World Heritage cities competed nationwide, with Andong among the three finally chosen.
The city earned high marks for its plan of performances, exhibitions, hands-on programs and academic events blending tradition and modernity across its World Heritage sites — Hahoe Village, Bongjeongsa, Dosan Seowon and Byeongsan Seowon.
